The MIGHTY SAINTS travelled to Charters Towers on the weekend. Going to the Towers has always been one of the toughest road trips in the TDRL. So, to come home with two out of three wins, is a great result. Details as follows:
A Grade WON 31-24: This keeps us well in touch with the top 4. We currently sit in fourth spot, but, only half a win behind the Burdekin, one win behind third placed Centrals and only two wins adrift of top spot. Our for and against differential isnt that good, so, we need to keep winning to maintain contact.
Reggies WON 22-16: Great to see the Reggies back in the winners circle and as mentioned last week, they need to string some wins together to get back into semi-final contention. They now sit only one win away from 4th spot, so, coach Alan Yardley will be keen to gather more momentum.
Under 18 Western Lions – Saints: LOST 24-30: The under 18s’ fifth position on the ladder belies their true potential as they keep losing close games and are going down as a result of second half performances that can be improved. The are now in a similar position to the Reggies were a couple of weeks ago and need to string some wins together to climb up the ladder and help with their confidence.
There are NO TDRL games during the long weekend and then we’re back at home, JOE BAKER FIELD, on Saturday 14th June.
