SAINT11 has snatched a handy 3 point lead at the top of the FUGS Tipping comp and that’s despite only getting 1 pick right in round 16. That just goes to show that with 10 rounds remaining, one slip up can cost you a lot of ground. Nevertheless, with only a couple of rounds remaining during the origin series, SAINT11 only needs to hold his nerve, catch the ball and score.
WOODY is the FUGS equivalent of the Parramatta Eels. One of the wooden spooners of 2013 and now a high flyer. And it takes some work to get him off the ground. But 2013 champion tipster JACKSBACK is still the danger and his consistency has the officials questioning whether or not he has hacked the system and lodging his tips in after full time.
STEVIE STEVENSON remains in a strong position and rounds out the top five on equal points with BLUE AND WHITE V, who got a credible 4 points in round 16. That just goes to show, that you really dont need to know a lot about rugby league to win a tipping comp.
BALLBOY is finally keeping his eyes on it and has launched himself into the top 10. Meanwhile TROTTY jumped six spots in one round courtesy of his 5 correct tips last round, further emphasising the earlier point about knowledge of the game. And the final exclamation mark on that point was put there by MR EAGLE who also scored 5 points in a desperate attempt to climb the ladder and save some face, but, needs to work harder to soar higher than MRS EAGLE who is still looking down on him.
The rest are a sad and sorry bunch just milling around at the bottom like the last sad little onions in the pickle jar. APRIL often wonders what it would be like living at the top of the ladder. I guess she’ll now have to wait until 2015 to have any chance of experiencing it.
10 rounds remain. Count them down and see them out.
