After tripping south to watch the Aussies smash the Poms in the cricket and then enjoying our own ‘Ashes’ experience at the Charters Towers Goldfield Ashes, the FUGS Committee is ready to rock n roll in 2014. We haven’t been laying idle … although, after bowling a few overs with the ball and bowling over a few more at the bar, we certainly didn’t feel too mobile for a couple of days.
The FUGS have kicked off the year by providing more support to the CLUB in the form of accounting assistance to the new treasurer, Narelle Fuller. The FUGS own accountant, who shall remain anonymous and is only referred to as ‘The Accountant’ has been contracted (in between some of his other ‘contracts’) to complete regular monthly statements so that the CLUB can easily track their financial progress throughout the year. This is what’s called “keeping it in LA FAMIGLIA”.
2014 Memberships
Our new 2014 MEMBERSHIP Year kicks off on 1st March and last year’s costs of $60 for ‘Saint Membership’ has been retained, despite external financial pressures bearing down on the FUGS income and expenditure … then there’s CPI … CIA … ASX … MIA … FUG all that! $60 is where it stays. And the FREE giveaway for the 2014 Memberships is …
This lovely MOUSE PAD … which can not just be used as a mouse pad. It can also be used to rest your hot serving dishes and to hit the kids over the back of the head when they don’t do as they’re told.
As usual, go to the MEMBERSHIP TAB for details on how to pay. Starts 1st March remember! As always the funds are predominantly used for the benefit of the UNI RUGBY LEAGUE.
2014 FUGS NRL Tipping
We are now into our third year of the FUGS NRL Tipping. 2012 Winner ‘SHAZZA’ has been stalking all the NRL players to see how they’re looking training. And. 2013 winner ‘JACKSBACK’ is expected to FRONT up for another tilt at the title, while HIGGOSNR who cunningly took out the $50 for coming last in 2013 is still considering his options, one of which includes getting a big L tattooed on his forehead.
Prize money will remain as: $150 – Winner. $50 – Runner Up. $50 – Last.
The Tipping competition is administered as part of the NRL Tipping site and placings are determined by the same rules.
The NRL Tipping has undergone some changes, so, 2013 Tipsters will need to re-register for 2014 and the FUGS own ‘League’ has also been re-registered within the site. If you weren’t in it last year, have a crack! It’s easy to register. Just go to NRL Tipping and register for 2014. The registration process just requires you to enter some basic information and once completed, it will ask ‘COMPS to JOIN’. The FUGS Comp Code is: YHM6ZWKW

FUGS Calendar
At the bottom right of the Website, you will find ‘UPCOMING EVENTS’ or ‘VISIT FULL CALENDAR’. This will be continually updated and once a TDRL Draw has been released, the CLUB’s match days will be included. What’s in there at the moment is:
- FUGS Punting afternoon at TOMs TAVERN on Saturday 15th February, commencing with the raffles at 12.30pm
- FUGS Membership Year commencement of 1st March
